To me the fawn distress sounds are more similar to a moose calf than an elk calf is. Whitetail fawn distress, Mule deer fawn distress, Blacktail fawn distress? Antelope distress? Elk calf distress? I went on to Foxpro's website and listened to their sound previews. So my question is which calls seem to work best or sound the most like a moose calf. I would try fawn distress call, as well as maybe a moose call, dying jackrabbit, and maybe even a raccoon distress call. Given that you can do so many different thing with the sounds on those calls I think fooling wolves would be no problem. Ive been calling for wolves on and off for about 10 years with no luck on the foxpro and only shooting them when I bump into them unawares. It is illegal to hunt moose with an electronic caller. Since you will be calling wolves that have never been hunted, you may actually have some decent success. And the irony is you can't even use the moose sounds to hunt moose.
